Photography, My Quiet Vice

5 09 2008

As well as trying to get my Internet Marketing Career into orbit, I have been trying to get into the obscure world of panoramic photography for websites. For years I have been an obsessive snapper with delusions of artistry and a strong hankering to use my photographic skills to earn a crust, particularly in the mountain landscape arena. I don’t think Colin Prior needs to run for cover just yet!

A friend of mine who runs a web design business in Lancaster UK, is so busily successful that he had ended up with a pile of the latest panoramic photography kit lying around that he didn’t have time to get to grips with. Until … he heard I wasn’t doing too well on the selling front. Over the last few months I have tried to put in a fair bit of time to learn the ropes with a “proper” digital camera, fisheye lens, and a stack of rather specialised software.

Finally I am beginning to feel confident enough of my ability to get good results, that my mate Tom is setting up our virtual tour website and I’ve started contacting hotels, local to me in Carlisle, with a view to doing a few test runs for them - obviously at no cost, as I am experimenting on their premises.
Some of my early experiments can be seen at.

I have started a community website based on the Stanwix area of the city which has my first experiments with a large scale tour.

You can find Tom and his handiwork at Web Site Design UK.

As so often with these things, just as I begin to gain confidence it seems to go horribly wrong. My most recent shoot had very challenging lighting contrasts and is not going to cut the mustard. I’ll have to go back and re-shoot several views. Ho hum!

Did you have a look at the Euromillions tonight? If you had invested in the VWD eLottery syndicates you might have actually been in with an almost believable chance, comparison with the vast majority of people who just go it alone.

That’s all for now, sleep is calling.

EuroMillions Keeps Rolling… to £92 Million

4 09 2008

You probably know how hard it is to nail a big win in any of the major lotteries don’t you? The numbers are stacked incredibly high against you pulling in the big one yourself. For the UK lottery it’s about 14 million : 1 whereas Euromillions has a staggering 76 million : 1 chance against any one ticket scooping the jackpot. It’s the one reason why people pool their resources and play in so many syndicates: at work; down the pub or however they get together. Most syndicates enjoy a significantly higher hit rate on the prizes, big and small, but they tend to be a pretty ad hoc collection of colleagues and friends getting together with no great thought about how they approach this statistical monster. Sadly there are still those who spend too much; often on their own, in the vain hope that This Week “It could be you-me-mine!”. You can’t look at the lottery as an investment.

Now this week the EuroMillions jackpot for Friday, 5th September, has rolled over for the sixth time, to an enormous estimated £92 million British Pounds Sterling - or €113,592,000 (over 113.5 million Euros)! That’s a staggering amount of cash for most of us mortals, with our feet still on planet Earth. But the odds are still that same 76 million:1 against YOUR ticket or MY ticket scooping the big prize. It sounds like I’m dead against the lottery, doesn’t it … BUT I’m NOT. If you are careful and sensible there is nothing wrong with a flutter. I’ve been luckier than most, picking up a 5 ball win about 5 years ago and several tenners along the way. And that was all before I discovered the SYSTEM for running an effective syndicate.

Anyone who even occasionally plays the lottery is not going to want to miss out on the chance to share such a huge prize, so despite my note of caution in the opening of this entry this is an…

How would you feel if … you let this chance go? Here’s the deal …

Playing in an e-lottery syndicate for the Euromillion Draw, the odds shift to a slightly (?) more reasonable 1 in 2.118 million chance of sharing the jackpot with their fellow syndicate members — which in this case would net each of them nearly £2.5 million (nearly €3 million) apiece! And that’s all because of the thoroughness of the syndicate system.

Even their chances of winning the lowest cash prize in EuroMillions goes from the “normal” 1 in 39 to better than 1 in 3 for e-lottery syndicates, with their guaranteed “Lucky Star” numbers. I rate this a very good selling point indeed! I won’t pretend I’ve hit the jackpot umpteen times over the last couple of years, but what I have seen is a steady dribble of little prizes that keep on adding up to nice little cheques in the post. Seriously this is the ONLY lottery system that covers all the bases so at the very least take a LOOK and see if you can use your stake a little more wisely and effectively.

And guess what- I don’t even need to make the weekly ticket trek any more.
To your health wealth and happiness
Ray

PS It might just interest you to know that our eLottery system has already pulled in thousands of prizes for members of our various syndicates.
